Liyang Delong high-end stainless steel 2,680mm hot-rolling project starts construction

On December 16, Liyang Delong Metal Technology Co., Ltd. formally started construction of the 2,680mm hot-rolled project with an annual processing capacity of 6 million tons of high-end stainless steel. With a total investment of RMB5 billion (USD765 million), the project will mainly build a world's largest 2,680mm hot-rolled steel strip production line, four 1,650mm hot-rolled annealing and pickling production lines, a 2,400mm shear line and a 2,400mm hot-rolled annealing and pickling production line. The project's main products include 2.5-25.4×1,250-2,400mm hot-rolled stainless steel strip and 25.4-55×1,250-2,400mm hot-rolled stainless steel plate. The project is expected to be put into commercial production in August 2021.
With a total investment of RMB17.6 billion (USD2.69 billion), Delong high-end stainless steel hot-rolling project uses 376 acres of land of Jiangsu Shente Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., and will reform and construct the project which produces 6 million tons of high-standard differentiated hot-rolled stainless steel medium and heavy plate and coils per year. It includes the world's largest 2,680 hot-rolled coil production line with an annual output of 6 million tons, stainless steel billet smelting production line with an annual output of 3 million tons, and 3,500 furnace coils production line with an annual output of 1 million tons of stainless steel flat plate, medium and heavy plate. The steelmaking production line and 3,500 furnace coils production line will start construction at the end of December 2020 and are expected to be put into commercial operation at the end of 2021.
In October 2020, Jiangsu Delong Nickel Industry Co., Ltd. was identified as the reformer of Jiangsu Shente Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.
