1. Market Highlights
The domestic section steel and steel pipe market performed worse in September than that in August, amid the decreasing signal. Though steel mills and traders were eager to lift prices seeing narrowed profits, end users refused to purchase at higher prices seeing the decreasing prices of raw materials such as iron ore and steel billet. Not being confident of the market prospect, traders were cautious about supplementing inventories, and end users just purchased from hand to mouth. Besides, the sharp and sudden price drop in the steel futures market weakened the confidence of spot market participants to a large extent.
