1. Market Highlights
Though prices for other major steel products such as HRC and rebar rebounded obviously by around RMB200/t (USD28/t) during the month, those for section steel and steel pipe failed to follow suite, and they even decreased a little bit in certain regions. Supported by low stockpiles caused by slow delivery, traders were eager to raise prices. However, the demand from downstream industries continued to be weak, and end users tended to purchase according to orders for finished products rather than build large stockpiles, not being confident of the market prospect. Boosted by the upward price trend, most mills were in high production activities from the middle of the month, and the supply might increase obviously in December.
