China's first Pb-Bi zero-power reactor reaches critical point for the first time

On the morning of 9 October, Morning Star III, the first Pb-Bi zero-power reactor in China, reached critical point for the first time in China Institute of Atomic Energy under China National Nuclear Corporation and formally launched China's physical experiment on Pb-Bi reactor core nuclear properties, marking a substantial advance of China in Pb-Bi fast reactor area and start of the engineering stage. Meanwhile, it also enabled China a global leader in Pb-Bi fast reactor research filed.
