HR strip prices in major markets of China kept the upward trend during this month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and the increase in steel mills' list prices. However, the market sales performance did not become better as customers without urgent need for materials were just holding a wait-and-see attitude and refusing to place orders. Some steel mills did not resume the regular production due to the environmental protection inspection and the tight supply of raw materials. Insiders think prices would go down in the coming month on weak customer demand.
