1. Market Highlights
Prices for section steel fluctuated frequently following price changes of raw materials during the month, coupled with participants' wait-and-see attitudes. The general market performance improved than that in February, but it was still far from satisfactory. Boosted by higher production costs, mills were active in lifting prices. Not being so confident of the market prospect, traders were cautious about supplementing inventories, and end users were inactive in placing large orders. In the meantime, prices went up slightly in other Asian markets during the month. Considering the overall market inventory runs on a low level, insiders think that the price for section steel may increase in April.
