In 2018, the excess coal capacity cut task in Inner Mongolia involves shutting down 11 local coal mines and cutting capacity of 4.05 million tons per year. According applications from enterprises and reports from cities, the actual task was adjusted to 22 local coal mines and 11.1 million tons per year. By the end of August, 22 coal mines were shut down, and a capacity of 9.9 million tons per year was cut. 89% of the annual task has been completed.
In the next step, relevant cities will carry out the initial inspection of closed coal mines and complete the closing of the remaining two coal mines on time by the end of October. By the end of November, the relevant departments of Inner Mongolia will, in accordance with the requirements of the state, check the closure of the coal mines to ensure that the excess capacity cut task is fully completed on time.
