HR strip prices in major markets of China witnessed an upward trend during this month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and increase in steel mills' list prices. Some steel mills were still out of production because of yearly facility maintenance and the environmental protection inspection. However, as it was the traditionally low season, demand from downstream customers did not become better and the market sales performance was still unsatisfying. Insiders suppose the market will remain quiet in the coming month.
