Prices for section steel ran on different trends in major domestic markets during the month, but the overall market performance showed signs of improving with the downstream demand getting stronger day by day. Facing heavy environmental protection pressures, most mills failed to produce fully, leading to a short supply. However, traders were not so confident of the market prospect in the second half of May considering new materials would arrive intensively and prices are likely to go down, so they were eager to conclude deals to withdraw capitals during the month.
