1. Market Highlights
Prices for section steel decreased nationwide during the month, mainly dragged by significant prices drop of raw materials. Though March was the traditional peak season for construction steel, the downstream demand failed to increase influenced by the downward price trend. End users only purchased according to urgent needs rather than place large orders, for fear of another price decrease. Reporting limited sales volumes, traders were not so confident of the market prospect, with wait-and-see attitudes. Considering firm prices and reduced supply from mills, insiders think the price for section steel may rebound slightly in April.
