S.G. cast iron market kept slumping in April with oversupply as a result of high output and declining demand. Major iron producers were mostly in normal operation and faced increasing inventory and sales pressure. Meanwhile, many small casting plants were shut down due to strengthening environmental protection pressure. Though those large casting plants reported better profits and under capacity, their demand of S.G. cast iron was neither active as many of them used more steel scrap to replace iron to reduce costs.
