Chinese tungsten market continued to run slowly in September with limited transactions concluded. Despite the traditionally busy season, demand in the spot market in September 2016 was weaker than that of the previous years and end users even noted that the demand declined by about 20% on year-on-year basis. On the one hand, consumers made replenishments cautiously and were reluctant to hold large volumes of stocks; on the other hand, suppliers who were under great pressure in production costs, refused to lower their prices substantially, resulting in limited transactions in the spot market.
