BEIJING (Asian Metal) 9 Mar 16 - Influenced by sharply increased ex-works prices from steel mills, the market price of CRC went up by USD50-60/t in past two weeks
A trader in Kayseri told Asian Metal that the quotation for CRC DC01 1.0mm*1,250mm*C from local steel mills is USD500/t VAT excluded, increasing by around USD60/t compared with that of two weeks ago. Holding an inventory of 1,000 tons in hand, the source revealed that steel mills lifted prices by USD50-70/t for March production seeing the price rise in international market especially in China.
According to the source, the current market sales performance is almost the same as that before the price increased. “Customers who hold no stocks have to buy materials at the current price, but those who hold stocks prefer to wait for a clearer market,” he said, adding that he sold about 300 tons last week. The source stated that some producers are planning to increase prices further by around USD30/t seeing prices in China continued to rebound sharply in past two days .
