Chinese bismuth ingot prices decreased in early March and became stable in mid-March. Later in the month, a number of bismuth ingot plants in some areas of Hunan province stopped production due to environmental protection investigations and the supply of bismuth ingots on the spot market became tight. Prices for bismuth ingots increased again and many suppliers held back from selling materials.
