A bismuth ingot trader in China reported that they purchased 20t of bismuth ingot at RMB128,000/t (USD9.49/lb) early this week, which decreased by RMB3,000/t (USD0.2/lb) against the price of RMB131,000/t (USD9.70/lb) in mid-February . They are fulfilling orders of bismuth ingot signed at USD10.3/lb in mid-February and offer the material at USD10.1/lb FOB China now . The source noted that most buyers have added stocks of bismuth ingot in the first half of February and are inactive in making purchase now as the real demand sees no increase.
“Domestic bismuth ingot price decreases a bit and RMB depreciates against US dollars, so we lower the export offers. If buyers show real intention in placing orders, we can accept the price of USD10/lb FOB China now,” added the source.
A bismuth supplier in China, with an output of around 50tpm, reported that they are mainly working on some long-term orders and sell some bismuth ingot at RMB130,000-130,500/t (USD9.64-9.67/lb) on the spot market this week, which decreased by around RMB2,000/t (USD0.15/lb) against that in late February.
However, the source claimed that the price drop of bismuth ingot is temporary. If the stocks in some exchanges keep increasing, the prices for bismuth ingot are likely to rise again .
