According to the source, they purchased some bismuth ingot at RMB130,000/t (USD9.73/lb) from domestic plants early this week, and the offers increase to around RMB131,000/t (USD9.81/lb) or higher now.
The source added that most bismuth ingot plants in China do not make offers now, expecting the prices to increase further, and it is hard for them to purchase bismuth ingot in large quantities on the spot market.
A bismuth oxide producer in China, with a regular consumption of around 70tpm for bismuth ingot, told Asian Metal that they purchased 30t of bismuth ingot at RMB129,000-130,000/t (USD9.66-9.73/lb) early this week, up by around RMB2,000/t (USD0.15/lb) further against that of last week, and the offers from bismuth ingot plants are around RMB131,000-132,000/t (USD9 . 81-9.88/lb) now.
