Chinese bismuth ingot export offers rise slightly

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 8 Jan 14 - Chinese domestic bismuth ingot prices keep firm and some suppliers raise offers slightly further this week
A major bismuth ingot supplier in China reported that they sealed some deals in small quantities of bismuth ingot at USD9.2/lb FOB China early this week and they now quote the material at USD9.3/lb FOB China, with no deals being concluded yet. In the domestic market, the source claimed that their transaction price increases slightly to RMB122,000/t (USD9.16/lb) this week.
“Many bismuth ingot suppliers are inactive in selling materials and the prices are likely to increase further before the Spring Festival holiday (late January and early February). RMB keeps appreciating against US dollars. We raise the export offers slightly,” said the source, adding that overseas buyers are coming back to the market gradually and bismuth ingot export market will see more orders in the following several days
A major bismuth ingot trader in China, who mainly exports bismuth ingot to Europe, reported that they were mainly working on some long-term orders and their purchasing volume for bismuth ingot in the spot market was stable recently. The mainstream prices for bismuth ingot have kept stable at USD9 . 1-9.2/lb FOB China in the recent two weeks and a few prices were around USD9.0/lb FOB China.
The source added that some suppliers raise offers slightly this week. They are watching the market temporarily and will decide whether to add more stocks before the Spring Festival holiday or not when the market trend becomes clear .
