A trader in South China, with a regular trading volume of around 20tpm for bismuth ingot, told Asian Metal that they seal some deals in small quantities of bismuth ingot at RMB120,500-121,000/t (USD9.02-9.03/lb) in the spot market this week, up by RMB1,000/t (USD0.07/lb) against that of last week. The source claimed that they have a few stocks of bismuth ingot purchased at RMB116,000/t (USD8.68/lb) in early December and intend to add some stocks.
“The prices are moving up and many suppliers are holding back from selling materials. Several major traders were making purchasing actively recently. The supply for bismuth ingot in the spot market is tight now and I think the purchasing price from plants should be around at least RMB119,000-120,000/t (USD8 . 91-8.98/lb) now,” said the source.
A major bismuth ingot supplier in China reported that they purchased some bismuth ingot at RMB118,000/t (USD8.83/lb) last week and sold a few materials at RMB120,000/t (USD8.98/lb) in the spot market early this week, up by RMB500-1,000/t (USD0 . 03-0.07/lb) further compared with the transaction price of late last week .
