Chinese HGI coil export price firm

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 11 Dec 13 - The current export price of HGI coil keeps unchanged but increases a little compared with that in late November. Most exporters are expecting higher ex-works prices from steel mills and tend to hike their quotations accordingly.
An exporter of HGI coil in Tangshan, Hebei Province reports that the quotation for DC51D+Z12 1.0mm*1,250mm*C (zero spangles) from Tangshan Steel is USD670/t FOB Tianjin Port, equaling to that of last week but USD5/t higher than that in late November.
“The shipment will be arranged in late March,” he says, adding that orders they have received are more and more in the new year. According to him, the export price of HGI coil in China increased by USD50/t from December, 2012 to early February, 2013. In his opinion, the export situation is not too bad at this moment, and prices have chances to hike in the coming month.
A source from Baotou Steel tells that the quotation for DX51D+Z08 1.0mm*1,250mm*C (zero spangles) is USD680/t FOB Tianjin Port, the same as that of last week but USD10/t higher than that in late November.
As he explains, the current quotation for SPCC 1.0mm*1,500mm*C is USD630/t, FOB Tianjin Port, which has been stable for more than one month. Demand for HGI coil from European and middle-east customers releases a little. Exporters in many countries like India also increased their quotations by USD5/t recently. In his opinion, the export price of HGI coil from Baotou Steel will not decrease in the short term.
