BEIJING (Asian Metal) 10 Dec 13 - Chinese bismuth ingot prices increased slightly by around RMB1,000-2,000/t (USD0.07-0.15/lb) to RMB116,000-118,000/t (USD8
A supplier in China, with a regular output of around 60tpm for bismuth ingot, claimed that the mainstream prices for bismuth ingot in the domestic market increase slightly to RMB117,000-118,0000/t (USD8.73-8.80/lb) now and some offers are RMB119,000/t (USD/lb) . In the export market, their price keeps stable at USD8 . 7-8.8/lb presently.
The source reported that the demand for bismuth ingot is stable in domestic and overseas markets. The price for crude bismuth increased to RMB100,000/t (USD7.46/lb) VAT excluded recently and the supply was tight . The source thinks that Chinese bismuth ingot prices will keep firm or rise slightly further in the near future.
A bismuth oxide producer in China, with a regular consumption of 65tpm for bismuth ingot, told Asian Metal that they purchased some bismuth ingot at RMB116,000/t (USD8.65/lb) in late November and did not add stocks recently. The source claimed that the mainstream offers for bismuth ingot increase to RMB117,000-118,000/t (USD8 . 73-8.80/lb) now, but some offers keep stable at RMB116,000/t (USD8.65/lb) . The source noted that there is no signal for the downstream market to pick up and bismuth oxide market is slow, and they do not intend to add stocks of bismuth ingot in large quantities in the near future.
The source added that they are still working on deals for bismuth oxide signed at RMB116,000/t (USD8.65/lb) in November and did not receive new orders recently.
