Prices of rough sintered NdFeB 35SH show upward tendency

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 16 Jul 13 - According to NdFeB magnets producers, prices of rough sintered NdFeB 35SH (square) show upward tendencies due to increasing rare earth raw material prices.
Asian Metal learnt from a source from a NdFeB magnets plant, which produces around 25 tons of rough sintered NdFeB 35SH (square) per month, in South China that price of rough sintered NdFeB 35SH (square) goes up to RMB195/kg (USD31.8/kg) at the moment, up by around RMB2/kg (USD0.3/kg) compared with that of last week. “PrNd mischmetal prices keep going up, which leads us to raise magnets prices,” added the source.
As for rare earth raw material prices, the source noted that she learnt that PrNd mischmetal and ferrodysprosium 80%min offers are RMB370,000/t (USD60,236/t) and RMB1,700/kg (USD277/kg) at the moment and she hasn’t replenished stocks over the past week.
A source, whose plant produces around 20 tons of rough sintered NdFeB 35SH (square) per month, from a NdFeB magnets plant in North China also shared with Asian Metal that PrNd mischmetal offer climbs to RMB400,000/t (USD65,120/t) for the time being, up from RMB370,000/t (USD60,236/t) of early last week. The source also noted that they adjust magnets prices accordingly these days.
“Our plant quotes RMB205-210/kg (USD31.8-33/kg) for rough sintered NdFeB 35SH (square) now, up by around RMB10/kg (USD1.5/kg) from those of two weeks ago,” noted the source, disclosing that their suppliers prefer to hold PrNd mischmetal stocks for a while.
