Asian Metal visits Century Sunshine Shanghai, Elkem (Shanghai)

On the afternoon of November 18, 2019, Asian Metal Senior Magnesium Analyst and Senior Product Manager Ms. Daphne Zhang visited Century Sunshine Group Shanghai Management Co., Ltd. ("Century Sunshine Shanghai"), and exchanged views with the company's General Manager Mr. Zhang Junchao on tops including current supply-demand status and price movements of the magnesium market, as well as development trends in supply-demand and price movements of the global magnesium market in 2020.

Century Sunshine Shanghai is in charge of selling and trading sector of its subsidiary Xinjiang Tengxiang Magnesium Products Co., Ltd., including magnesium ingot, magnesium alloy and other magnesium products. Its magnesium sales in 2018 totaled 35,000t and those in 2019 are expected to be comparatively similar. Since entering the magnesium market, Century Sunshine Shanghai has been adopting Asian Metal prices as its pricing guidance when purchasing from upstream suppliers and selling to downstream clients. Mr. Zhang thought highly of objective, fair and timely market information provided by Asian Metal, and expected to take part in the 9th Magnesium Summit to be held by Asian Metal in Hangzhou on April 16-17, 2020, hoping to find more high-quality clients and set up partnership with more suppliers at the meeting.

Afterwards, Ms. Daphne Zhang visited Elkem (Shanghai), where she met and had in-depth discussions with the company's Procurement Director Ms. Jin Yan on current and future trends of the magnesium market. >From suppliers in Ningxia, Shaanxi and Shanxi, Elkem (Shanghai) purchases heterotype magnesium ingot and T-type magnesium ingot for producing and processing nucleating agent, spheroidizing agent and related casting materials. Its annual consumption is about 4,000t, mainly coming from its plants in Norway, Paraguay, India, Canada and Ningxia of China.

Elkem (Shanghai) has cooperated with Asian Metal for many years, and Ms. Jin Yan highly praised Asian Metal for providing objective, fair and timely market information.
