    Asian Metal visits Baotou Santoku Battery, Baotou Yingguang, Baotou Xinlong, Baotou Hailiang Technology and Baotou Huaya Rare Earth

    On December 15th, 2017, Eric Qiu, Asian Metal rare earth market analyst, and Liu Guojian, Asian Metal president assistant, visited Baotou Santoku Battery Material Co., Ltd., Baotou Yingguang New Materials Co., Ltd., Baotou Xinlong New Materials Co., Ltd., Baotou Hailiang Technology Co., Ltd. and Baotou Huaya Rare Earth Materials Co., Ltd.
    On the morning of December 15th, Eric Qiu and Liu Guojian visited Baotou Santoku Battery Materials Co., Ltd., where they met with deputy general manager Wang Hongjiang, Kamiyoshi Masato, sales & purchasing assistant of deputy general manager, and Ma Xiaoping , director of purchasing department. Mr. Wang stated that the company expects their rare earth hydrogen storage alloy powder output in 2017 would reach to about 1,300t, up by about 8.3% YOY, which mainly due to the climbing price of lithium battery and limited application of nickel-cadmium battery under the condition of environmental protection. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on market supply and demand, price trend and payment terms, etc. about products such as lanthanum metal, LaCe mischmetal, samarium metal, PrNd mischmetal.

    Subsequently, Eric Qiu and Liu Guojian visited Baotou Yingguang New Materials Co., Ltd. and Baotou Xinlong New Materials Co., Ltd., and had discussion with chief engineer Man Yongjun of Baotou Fluorescent and Director Xu Airong of Baotou Xinlong. Eric exchanged ideas with Mr. Man about prices and market trend of products such as europium oxide, gadolinium oxide and samarium europium gadolinium, and Mr. Man expressed his gratitude about the long-term communication and advices Asian Metal provided. In addition, Eric and Mr. Xu had in-depth communication on the supply and demand of LaCe products, cerium metal, PrNd mischmetal and rare earth concentrates. Mr. Xu stated that he would actively support the 10th International Rare Earth Summit to be held by Asian Metal on May 10th -11th, 2018 in Sanya.

    In the afternoon, Eric Qiu and Liu Guojian visited Baotou Hailiang Technology Co., Ltd. and talked with general manager Wang Xingang. Mr. Wang noted that with the price increase of LaCe carbonate, this year's polishing powder industry saw tighter supply of raw materials in Q2 and Q3, and relatively stable supply and demand in Q4. Both sides had in-depth exchanges on prices, market supply and demand of LaCe carbonate and polishing powder products. Mr. Wang also stated that the company would add a 1,500tpy-capacity polishing powder production line in 2018, as well as his support for the International Rare Earth Summit to be held by Asian Metal on May 10th -11th, 2018 in Sanya.

    Then Eric Qiu and Liu Guojian talked with Li Guobin, chairman of Baotou Huaya Rare Earth Materials Co., Ltd. The two sides exchanged views on the status of rare earth industry in Baotou and market trend of LaCe-related metal products. Mr. Li expressed his appreciation for long-term and high-frequency communication Asian Metal keeps and Asian Metal's site visits, stating that he would actively participate in the 10th International Rare Earth Summit to be held by Asian Metal on May 10th -11th, 2018.
