On the afternoon of January 22, 2016, Wang Xianda (Sam), the sales manager of Sales Department in Swiss Manatrade AG visited Asian Metal and exchanged views on the current cobalt and arsenic market and future trend with senior analyst Wanglin and assistant analyst Liuyajuan from the Minor Metal Department of Asian Metal. Manatrade AG is the sister company of Moroccan CTT, responsible for sales and marketing of CTT cobalt cathodes and arsenic trioxide.
According to Sam, CTT runs its own smaltine mines in Morocco with an annual output of about 2,000t, supplying the global market.
Sam enquired Asian Metal about the major producers, raw materials, price trend and related factors, exports and imports, etc. in the current Chinese arsenic metal and arsenic trioxide market. He also introduced their production, sales, etc. of arsenic trioxide. CTT owns an arsenic trioxide plant with an annual arsenic trioxide 99.5% capacity of 10,000t. Different from other Chinese plants, the company’s raw material of arsenic trioxide comes from the byproduct of cobalt metal rather than gold mines. The company produced about 7,000t of arsenic trioxide, serving as one of the major suppliers in North America.
The two parties shared views on the arsenic trioxide and cobalt market in 2016.
