Chinalco Capital visits Asian Metal
On the morning of January 5th 2026, Ms. Liwen Liang, Deputy General Manager of Capital Market Department (Institute of Industry and Finance), and Mr. Bihao Wang, Manager, visited Asian Metal and held discussions with Mr. Xianghua Wang, Aluminum Market Analyst; Ms. Daphne Zhang, Senior Magnesium Market Analyst; Mr. Alex Guo, Tin Market Analyst; and Ms. Bonnie Song, Lithium Market Analyst.
Ms. Liwen Liang first noted that, as an investment arm under Chinalco, the company primarily focuses on investment opportunities along the aluminum industry chain, while also planning to explore investments in other nonferrous metals with strong growth potential. Mr. Xianghua Wang provided an overview and analysis of current domestic and overseas investment in new electrolytic aluminum projects, and introduced popular investment directions in downstream aluminum deep-processing sectors.
Subsequently, Ms. Liwen Liang consulted Mr. Alex Guo in detail on domestic tin market supply and demand, and disclosed that Chinalco Capital intends to expand into overseas tin mining projects this year. Mr. Alex Guo outlined key investment directions in the tin sector and offered practical business development recommendations. He also invited Chinalco Capital to attend the Tin Forum 2026 to be held by Asian Metal in Nanning, Guangxi on April 23-24th, 2026. Chinalco expressed its willingness to participate actively to gain deeper insights into market dynamics.
Ms. Daphne Zhang then delivered an in-depth analysis of magnesium metal production processes, the current domestic and international supply-demand landscape, and application prospects for magnesium products. She also provided a detailed briefing on the production layout and development trends of the overseas die-casting industry. Ms. Liwen Liang indicated her interest in attending the 14th Magnesium Summit to be held by Asian Metal in Chengdu on April 16-17th, 2026.
Finally, Ms. Bonnie Song introduced the current supply-demand balance across the lithium carbonate industry chain and shared her outlook on price trends for 2026. Following discussions on domestic and overseas investment opportunities, Ms. Liwen Liang spoke highly of the professional information services provided by Asian Metal and expressed her hope to leverage the platform to expand access to overseas resources.
