A trader in Beijing, who imports materials from Chile and sells in domestic market, reported to Asian Metal that they have raised battery grade lithium carbonate offers to above RMB43/kg (USD6.85/kg) and RMB42/kg (USD6.69/kg) for industrial grade lithium carbonate in Chinese domestic market . “We lift quotations by about RMB0.5-1/kg (USD0 . 08-0.16/kg) compared with that before the Spring Festival holiday,” said the source . According to him, some downstream users have accepted the higher offers, while some are watching the market . He revealed that they have sold 100t of materials since they came back from the Spring Festival holiday.
“Producers would like to raise prices because the production cost is going up, but most consumers are reluctant to accept higher prices.
