Asian Metal visits Montanwerke Brixlegg AG
On 26 June 2014, Asian Metal visited the Montanwerke Brixlegg AG copper smelter in Brixlegg. Founded over 550 years ago, Montanwerke Brixlegg is today one of Europe’s smaller copper smelters. Asian Metal looked at the company’s loading and processing facilities, blast furnace, flotation and refining tanks and copper billet/cake producer.
The visit also involved a meeting with Sandra Siebenbrunner, head of sales for Montanwerke Brixlegg AG. Copper scrap procurement, LME sales and hedging techniques, the copper cathode spot market and European premium trends were discussed.
