Lynas visits Asian Metal
On 13 January,2014, Pol Le Roux, Vice President of Lynas Headquarter, Jean Claude Steinmetz, Chief Operating Officer of Lynas Headquarter, Wayne Park, General Manager of Lynas Malaysia SDN. BHD. and Yang Jiang, the exclusive distributor of Lynas in China visited Asian Metal and talked with Maggie Lee and Peter Chan, rare earth analyst and associate from Asian Metal.
Lynas Corporation Ltd is an ASX 200 listed company, with the strategy to create a reliable, fully integrated source of Rare Earths from mine through to market, and to become the benchmark for the security of supply and environmental standards in the global Rare Earths industry. The foundation of this strategy is Mount Weld in Western Australia, the richest known deposit of Rare Earths in the world, and a state-of-the-art Rare Earths processing plant, the Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP), near Kuantan in Pahang, Malaysia.
First, both sides exchanged views on issues of common concern about current rare earth market. Pol Le Roux showed his idea about the lanthanum oxide 99.95% market and demand from catalyst industry and he made predictions about the heavy rare earth market like dysprosium, europium and yttrium. Now Lynas focus on producing and selling light rare earth products. Maggie introduced supply and demand in the international rare earth market and Peter explained about the Chinese domestic market. For the 6th Rare Earth Summit in Nanning held by Asian Metal, Pol said he would like to communicate with other rare earth companies all over the world at that time.
