Xinyuan is the second largest manganese producer in Guangxi, with a current production capacity of 37,000tpy. Mr. Zhou guided Asian Metal to visit the manganese flake workshop, telling that most producers in Guangxi are suffering from loses due to price declines. Besides, Mr. Zhou revealed that Baise, which is the leading manganese production area in Guangxi, will not implement the electricity price for wet season this year, and is likely to lead to reduction in manganese output in the coming two months.
On the morning of May 16th, Asian Metal visited Jingxi Huarong Manganese Co., Ltd., which is a subsidiary of Chongqing Runji Far East Alloy Co., Ltd. Huarong can produce manganese flake 99.7% and manganese flake 99.9% at the same time, and has won a number of quality and environment testing certificates. Song Dayong, the Vice president, and Xu Guangyong, the minister of Supply and Marketing Department specially guided and introduced the manganese ore magnetic separation and filter pressing workshops to Asian Metal. Great Southwest and Guangxi Boteli Manganese are brother companies, with a total production capacity of 30,000tpy, whose operation rate is about 50% at the moment. Li Jiaka, the General Manager Assistant, and Chen Qijun, the Administration Manager, guided Asian Metal to visit the manganese flake workshop, telling that the electricity price in most Guangxi production areas is ranging from RMB0.65-0.70/KWH, leading to firm costs of manganese. Mr. Li and Mr. Chen hold a view that manganese industry is still beset with difficulties in 2013 as demand of end users has not shown any signs of rebounding.
