Asian Metal visits some alumina producers and traders in Shandong

On March 22, Asian Metal visited Chalco Shandong, Shandong Lubei Chemicals and Zibo Rundi Aluminum.

In the morning of March 22, Friday Gao, manager of Base Metal Department from Asian Metal, and Kevin Sun, assistant analyst met director Song from Chalco Shandong. Mr Gao and Mr Sun visited the production line of Chalco Shandong. Director Song introduced the company history and production details to Asian Metal.

Both parties talked about the current alumina market and capacity. Mr Song showed his view and worry on the Indonesian bauxite export policy.

In the afternoon of March 22, Asian Metal visited Zibo Rundi Aluminum, a major trading company dealing with alumina and bauxite. Manager Cheng from the trading company, showed their business progress and opinion on current and future alumina and bauxite market.

In the morning of March 23, Asian Metal visited Shandong Lubei Chemicals Co., Ltd., an alumina producer with the capacity of 1 million tons per year. Director Hu from alumina department introduced their production details and expressed his own view on alumina market development. They mainly use imported bauxite, so they are worried about the Indonesian bauxite export ban. Asian Metal took a chance to visit their production lines. Manager Zhang from the company gave Asian Metal a detailed introduction.
